Compass Medical is an Agentic AI startup that fast tracks how people receive cancer care. Compass (https://www.trycompassmedical.com) fast tracks cancer care by analyzing inquiries in real-time, optimizing cancer care experience, directing patients to the right care path, predicting bottlenecks, and eliminating mundane workarounds.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented founding AI engineer(s) to join our startup (a team of 7). About you! -LLM experience a huge plus -Tech stack experience:JavaScript (language), Node js (API server), jQuery or other front-end framework (angular, ember, react), HTML, CSS, and postgresql or similar transactional database (Database) Must have some practical knowledge in: -Structuring & maintaining a back-end web application -AI Machine learning techniques, training datasets -Managing permissions and roles of users -PostgreSQL or other transactional database Industry level programming practices -JavaScript, Node.js; jQuery for front-end development -Scripting skills – Ability to automate tasks with scripts, write simple API scripts, experience creating loops, arrays and other scripting functions to simplify repetitive tasks

Compass is founded by two MIT graduate students. One founder is a serial entrepreneur who has raised millions in venture funding and exited through acquisition (i.e. upwards of 9 figure exits), and who has spent over a decade in building machine learning, workflow automation, optimization companies. The other founder is a physician who has developed and launched health technologies across various clinical conditions and workflows, with a record of building clinical and R&D programs, advising organizations (including venture-backed digital health companies), and driving transformative innovation. We are funded by MIT Sandbox, a 2025 MIT Sloan Health Innovation Prize finalist, a MIT VMS startup, and we already have 10K+ patients on the waiting list and established preliminary partnerships with leading hospitals such as MD Anderson and MGH, as well as regional centers.
